Our instructions and guidelines will help you to find the exact percentage you achieved in your examination.
IGNOU percentage is calculated on the basis of Assignment marks and Theory marks obtained in the Term End Exam. Generally, the method is applicable to almost all courses offered by IGNOU.
Assignments (30% weighted): Candidates have to compulsorily submit their IGNOU Assignment to the coordinator of the study center every semester or year.
Term End Examination (70% Weighted): IGNOU conducts Term End Examination twice a year in June and December. Candidates can appear in any of the session exams after the submission of assignments.

IGNOU Grading System 2024
Students will have to consider the below grading system which is given on the basis of the percentage you get in your examination.

| D | 40% to 49.9% |
| E | Below 40% |
The letter grading system is used for grading your assignment marks and theory marks. Following is the list of grades with remarks:

I’ve completed my masters in english from ignou in june 2023, haven’t received my orginal marksheet and provisional certificate yet even after mailing them several times regarding this issue, I’ve registered myself in 37 convocation and paid the “certificates delivery through post” amount, still they’ve managed to make an error in my address due to that I’ve received my certificates. BUT I’VE GOT ONE CERTIFICATE STATING THAT I’VE PASSED THE EXAM WITH FIRST DIVISION. Does this mean I’ve scored more than 55% and I’m eligible for ugc net? I’m requesting you to please please clear this for me once so that i can focus on my preparation without any doubt.

Ms. Deeksha you have passed in 2 exams in which you have scored “D” and assignment is “A” so, both marks calculated is more than or equal to “C” grade So, you have passed in 2 subject as per Ignou guidelines.
But 1 subject marks “E” grade is fail and you need to give re-exam for passed that’s subject.

Yes, Grade C in theory is mandatory to pass. Minimum passing grade has been changed to C.
