Do you remember how students used to wait for their certificates after completing IGNOU courses? Earlier, IGNOU used to send physical certificates by post to the students who were not able to attend the convocation ceremony. But the blockchain-based system has brought an upgrade in the process.

In place of sending the certificates by post, IGNOU will allow the students to download the degrees and certificates from the IGNOU portal itself. So, whether you have come up for the convocation ceremony or not, you can download your certificate from the IGNOU portal now.

IGNOU Digital Degree: Eligibility

IGNOU celebrated its 36th convocation ceremony for the students on 3rd April 2023 honoured by Droupadi Muurmu, the current president of India. About 2,79,918 certificates, degrees, and diplomas were distributed to the relevant students at the ceremony. Our honourable president personally handed over the gold medals to the students who have done excellently in the exams.

The 36th convocation ceremony at IGNOU was for those students who have completed their programs and courses by December 2021 and June 2022. These students were not just eligible for the convocation ceremony held by IGNOU but also are eligible now to download the certificates and degrees digitally from IGNOU’s Samarth portal.

How To Download IGNOU Digital Degree Certificate?

Students who have attended the 36th convocation ceremony of IGNOU or not are now eligible to download their digital degrees from the Samarth portal of IGNOU. Here is a complete process you can download IGNOU Digital Degree.

Step – 1 – First, you will have to visit the IGNOU official portal for digital degrees at https://ignou.samarth.edu.in.

Step – 2 – Click on New Registration available at the bottom of the page

Step – 3 – Select your programme, then enter your name and enrolment

Step – 4 – Type the given captcha and submit the credentials

Step – 5 – Next, submit the OTP that you must have received on the email that you have registered with IGNOU

Step – 6 – Now create your password for login

Step – 7 – After you have created your password, once again go to the portal ignou.samarth.edu.in.

Step – 8 – Here put your enrolment as your username and then your password

Step – 9 – Also, type the provided captcha to login

Step – 10 – After you have entered the portal, click on the given option of my Certificates

Step – 11 – Next, select the option All Certificates

Step – 12 – Download the certificate that you wish to get

Step – 13 – Open the PDF format of the downloaded certificate to save it
