IGNOU LLB 2024: Eligibility, Admission, Fees & Dates 2024

Can I Do an LLB from IGNOU? Are you thinking of pursuing an LLB degree just after your graduation? IGNOU offers several law courses for the students like PGDIPR, PGDCJ, CAHT, CCP, and DIPP. But sadly, IGNOU does not offer the LLB degree for students who wish to pursue a proper law degree.

The Bar Council of India has strict regulations that the LLB degree can not be attained through distance education in India. So, IGNOU does not offer the LLB degree for its students. But you do not have to be disappointed as there are several universities from where you can pursue an LLB degree in India after qualifying in the LLB entrance test.

LLB Eligibility 2024

Students can pursue the LLB degree after Class 12th or after graduation. Aspiring candidates who wish to pursue an LLB should have these eligibility criteria.

LLB from IGNOU

Integrated LLB Eligibility 2024

This degree of 5 years is for students who have just passed Class 12th and wish to pursue a BA LLB degree. In the integrated LLB course, students can choose from different combinations like BA LLB, BCom LLB, or BSc LLB. The eligibility criteria for pursuing this degree are:

  • Students should have completed their Class 12th from a proper national board.
  • General category students should have acquired at least 50% in aggregate while SC/ST category students should get 45%.

PG LLB Eligibility 2024

Students who have already passed their graduation can pursue this degree for 3 years. The eligibility criteria for students pursuing a PG LLB degree are:

  • Candidates should have completed education in the format of 10+2+3
  • Students should have graduated from a UGC-recognized university in India.
  • The minimum aggregate score is 45% for general category candidates and 40% for SC/ST category candidates.

Candidates can always prepare and appear for two different entrance tests. Doing so will help them increase the chance of craving through at least one exam and getting admission to a law college faster. But this depends upon the capability of the candidate. If you are not able to take pressure two tests at a time, you should focus on one test one time.

LLB Entrance Exam 2024

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the LLB Entrance Exam CUET for candidates who wish to achieve a career in Indian law. NTA applications for different LLB programs started on 26th December 2023 for which the last date will be 24th January 2024.

NTA will issue the CUET LLB 2024 admit card on 7th March 2024. Also, according to the recent updates, NTA will conduct the CUET PG 2024 exam between 11th March to 28th March 2024. Also, NTA will conduct the CUET BA LLB 2024 exam between 21st May to 31st May 2024.

Apart from the NTA CUET entrance, there are also some other entrance tests that you can appear for like CLAT, LSAT India, AILET, SLAT, and MH CET Law. Out of all the entrance exams, CLAT is one of the most important ones after CUET.

LLB Admission 2024

To seek admission in LLB courses, candidates have to clear the NTA CUET Entrance exam. On clearing this entrance exam, you can seek admission to some of the highly reputed universities in India like Delhi University and Banaras Hindu University, Aligarh Muslim University, and the University of Allahabad.

  • LLB Entrance Application:

Aspiring students must visit the official website of NTA at https://cuet.samarth.ac.in to apply for the entrance test. The last date to apply for 2024 is 24th January 2024.

  • Appear for the Exam:

Prepare for the exam well with extreme dedication. NTA has declared the CUET exam dates already on its official website. The PG CUET exam will be conducted from 11th to 28th March 2024 while the BA LLB CUET exam will be conducted from 21st to 31st May 2024.

Students must prepare in the topics of general knowledge, data interpretation, English numerical aptitude, analytical skills, general aptitude, and reasoning. Also, the students should practice as many mock tests as possible to crack the test in one go.

  • Applying at Universities:

CUET scores are accepted in most of the central and state universities. After clearing CUET, you must visit the CUET score accepting colleges to check their cut-off marks. You can seek admission to a college if you gain a cut-off score displayed by the college.

LLB Fees Structure 2024

On average, the LLB fees range between Rs. 1 lacs to Rs 2 lacs per annum. The actual fee structure fluctuates depending on the college you are selecting. Usually, National colleges have a lower fee structure in comparison to the private law colleges in the country.
