IGNOU Fee Structure 2025
At the time of admission, the total payable amount is split into two parts: (i) Registration Fee and (ii) Programme Fee. Registration Fee is charged once at fresh admission and is non-refundable. Programme Fee depends on the specific course and the billing unit (per year / per semester / full programme).

IGNOU Programme Fees 2025
Programme fees vary by course and are billed per year, per semester, or for the full programme. Always check the current brochure/admission portal for the exact amount before paying.
Ph.D. (Research Programmes) — Fee (w.e.f. 2020 and in force)
First year: ₹17,850 (includes ₹8,400 registration + ₹1,050 for 18-credit coursework; balance as per University schedule).
Re-registration: ₹8,400 per year thereafter till thesis submission / maximum duration (payable in June every year).
IGNOU Fee Structure for International Students (FSRI) — January 2025 onwards
For Foreign Students Residing in India (FSRI), the University has notified a programme-wise fee schedule effective from the January 2025 session. Amounts differ for SAARC and Other-than-SAARC categories and are billed per the programme’s unit (year/semester/full programme).

IGNOU Fee Refund Policy 2025
The IGNOU allows students to cancel their admission within specific timelines as per the latest University policy (effective from July 2024 cycle). Below are the updated refund guidelines for the January and July 2025 admission sessions.
The Registration Fee is non-refundable.
The programme fee paid shall be refunded only if the cancellation request is received prior to confirmation of admission.
If a cancellation request is received after confirmation of admission, an amount equivalent to 15% of the programme fee (subject to a maximum of ₹2,000) will be deducted, and the remaining amount will be refunded.
In case a student has opted for a soft copy of the study material, the fee will be refunded after deducting the Registration Fee only.
If a student has availed fee exemption (SC/ST category) and paid only the Registration and Development fees, only the Development Fee will be refunded upon cancellation.
No refund of any kind will be admissible after 60 days from the closing date of admissions for that session.
Students are advised to carefully review the admission confirmation status before requesting a refund. For complete details, refer to the IGNOU Admission Portal or the IGNOU Common Prospectus.

sir , I am admitted MSW in 2013 and I completed my course within 2015. but my 1st journal has been stolen from IGNOU at 2015 and then my family proble I had submitted it 2018 . it’s almost late then it’s not possible to me to do 2 yr journal then whenever Ioss my girl child at that time. HI IGNOU Team , i had taken admision in Saudi Arabia IGNOU for BTS Course in year 2006 my practical exams was submitted in saudi Center too at Jedhha location and then i had gone to Mumbai to give my Theory Exams on may 2007 and was removed out of the hall due to not having original Hall tickets with me so due to embarrassment i didn’t continue my education further But now I understand the importance for me to complete my Graduation and i want to pursue it further , i am currently living in Sharjha UAE please guide me whats the steps for Re Admission or do I have to Enroll my self a New candidate.
